Why an affiliation instead of shipping myself? Everything you see in my in-person store gets packed into a van at the end of the show, where it stays until it's unpacked at the next event. Trying to get to something in order to ship it is VERY difficult. And trying to put something aside that's sold can be problematic. So affiliation has become the easiest and most reliable way to provide accurate inventory with quick fulfillment for our customers.
What do I get from the affiliation? I get a percentage of the sale amount in the form of a credit which I use towards purchasing more inventory for future events. This helps keep my supply up to date and just as varied as you've come to expect.
Why are the website prices different than the in-person prices? My prices are MSRP plus shipping. Often, the amount of shipping that I've added to the in-person price is less than the amount of shipping you'll pay when ordering online, but it greatly depends on what you order and if Calimacil is running a promotion. I try to keep things fair and even, but with constantly changing prices and conversion rates between USD and CAD, sometimes the prices don't match up.
Why do you have an affiliation with a store in Canada instead of the USA? Calimacil is a fantastic company that carries not only their own products, but a wide range of inventory from other manufacturers. Their warranty is terrific and they stand behind their products. Their customer service is excellent, so I know my customers are in good hands. Unfortunately, there's no USA-based company that can compete with Calimacil, they're simply the best choice.
